A New Year, A New You.

It’s time to kick old habits to the curb and start 2015 fresh. Try these noteworthy tricks for making - and sticking to - this year’s resolutions:

Have a healthy breakfast. Start your day out with a balanced, nourishing breakfast. Our Blueberry Ginger Productivity Protein Smoothie packs a punch of protein. Made with blueberries, honey, ginger, cinnamon and almonds, this tasty treat will fuel you throughout the day and aid in your overall wellness. Or, if you’re in a rush, grab a Blueberry Oat Muffin as you run out the door.

It’s about the journey. Remember to make your resolution about the journey and not strictly the outcome. Sure, it’s great to have that ideal “you” in mind, but if that person isn’t attainable, it might just cause more stress. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment from the get-go. Be mindful of you.

Break the habit. Humans are creatures of habit. Failing to change previous habits are typically what sabotage New Year’s resolutions. In order to stay on track with your goals, make conscious sacrifices or rearrangements to help avoid slipping back into former toxic behaviors.

Plan ahead. Just as you would set your work clothes out the night before, have your workout gear packed beforehand as well. In fact, even have your running/workout shoes ready and raring to go by the door. Constant cues never hurt.

Be realistic when setting goals. Make sure your expectations line up with reality, and, if possible, narrow down to a handful of specific goals. If working out early or late at night isn’t you, don’t force it. Instead, plan a workout over lunch or sign up for a cycling class with a friend after work.

Get an app. There’s a plethora of apps that track daily activity such as hours of sleep, steps taken, calories burned and meal planning solutions. Maximize these apps (especially if they’re free!) to keep track of and measure each day’s progress.

By being in the right mindset, your New Year’s resolutions won’t go unresolved. Who knows, this might be your best year yet!
