Old-fashioned rolled oats, nonfat yogurt, pure honey and AllWhites® egg whites are the powerhouse ingredients in this heart healthy quick bread recipe. This delicious bread is super-moist with a dense, even texture-perfect for toasting.
1/2 cupold-fashioned oats
1 Tbsp.canola oil
- 1 cupold-fashioned oats
- 1 cupnonfat vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 cupAllWhites® egg whites*
- 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp.honey
- 3 Tbsp.canola oil
- 2/3 cupnonfat milk
- 1 1/3 cupswhole-wheat flour**
- 1 cupall-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp.baking powder
- 1 tsp.cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp.salt
- 1/4 tsp.baking soda
Heat oven to 375°F. Grease bottom of a 9x5-inch loaf pan.***
Mix all topping ingredients together in small bowl with fork until crumbly.
Mix 1 cup oats, yogurt, AllWhites egg whites, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons oil, and milk in a large bowl.
Mix flours, baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and soda in medium bowl. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until evenly moistened. Spoon batter into loaf pan.
Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over top of batter.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
